Thawtfman's mod reduces the fog in the game, which may cause some areas to appear differently without it. Additionally, it removes all depth of field, motion blur, bloom, lens flare effects and includes optimization adjustments that should result in a sharper image. If any of these aspects have been bugging you, you should give it a go.
