New 1.03 patch released for Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak
Blackbird Interactive has released a quick new patch, version 1.03, for their prequel real-time strategy Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak. The update comes a week after a larger patch, but fortunately, it's not correcting any bugs the previous patch made.
Gearbox Software and Blackbird Interactive announce Homeworld prequel
It's been awhile since we talked about Homeworld: Shipbreakers, the prequel game in the works from the creators of the illustrious Homeworld RTS series. It appears we're never going to talk about Shipbreakers again though, because the game has been formerly announced with the title Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak.
Homeworld: Shipbreakers makes an appearance at Unite conference
Did you know that there's a new Homeworld game in the works? I had absolutely no idea, which made it particularly surprising when land-based strategy prequel Homeworld: Shipbreakers popped up at the Unite conference recently. Be warned, much of the presentation consists of rather dry discussions of camera techniques and the like, but there is a trailer that demos the game's combat and setting. Remember those massive capital ships from the excellent Homeworld 2? Here you're scavenging parts needed to complete their construction, which means the focus is on atmospheric aircraft and tank combat rather than the series' trademark tank battles.
First footage of Homeworld Remastered Collection, releasing on PC February 25th with Steam Multiplayer Beta
It's just a little over a month away before a space-based real-time strategy shackles us to our desktops as Gearbox Software announces the Homeworld Remastered Collection is launching February 25th. If you weren't salivating enough for Homeworld's return, then today also sees the very first footage from the HD overhaul from PAX South.
