The World of Warcraft Dragonflight expansion is in full swing, seeing players return to Azeroth to explore the Dragon Isles. Although the Primalists represent a large threat, their elemental powers don't hit quite as hard as the MMORPG going offline, whether for planned maintenance or because of unexpected issues. That's also why keeping a track of the World of Warcraft Server Status is pretty important.
This article aims to keep track of WoW's Server Status so you know when you won't be able to explore the Dragon Isles or any other of the realms added in the game's lengthy history.
Weekly maintenance is required so Blizzard can ensure that the servers run smoothly, but unexpected issues can occur, taking the game offline or causing dreaded login queues.
World of Warcraft Server Status Updates
- Current Server Status - Online
The World of Warcraft servers are currently online. Lag and login queues are usually expected around the launch of major updates. Outside of exceptional circumstances, things tend to stabilize after a few days or weeks at most.
Blizzard is aware of both the lag and queues that affected WotLK Classic's megaservers during the expansion's launch, as well as several issues that have popped up since Dragonflight went live. Work to address them is underway.
For the US region, the WoW Classic and retail servers will be unavailable on January 17, between 7 AM PST and 8 AM PST. WotLK Classic will be down for longer on the same day, between 7 AM and 3 PM PST.
Over on the EU side of things, the WoW Classic and retail servers will be unavailable on January 18, between 2 AM GMT and 3 AM GMT. WotLK Classic will be unavailable on the same day, between 2 AM GMT and 10 AM GMT.
We'll keep you alerted on the World of Warcraft server status to keep you updated on when you'll have to take a break from adventuring through both the Shadowlands and Azeroth, but it's a good idea to also keep track of the official US and EU maintenance pages.
