The hype surrounding Starfield is tangible despite being more than one year away and, while details surrounding the upcoming RPG remain generally scarce, we now know that it will have "over 150,000 lines of dialogue."
The announcement was made by Todd Howard during Tokyo Game Show 2021's Xbox Live Stream, where Starfield's full Japanese translation was also confirmed.
More than 300 actors have worked on what will be Bethesda Game Studios' "largest translation ever," according to Howard.
By comparison, Fallout 4 had 111,000 lines of dialogue, while the wildly popular and endlessly ported The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim clocked in at 60,000.
Howard also pointed out that Starfield was Bethesda's "first new gaming universe in over 25 years," which is partly the reason for the hype surrounding the game.
The announcement was, sadly, not accompanied by new gameplay but that's bound to come as we get closer to the title's launch, which is currently slated for November 11, 2022.
Based on what we know so far, Starfield will also be the first Bethesda game that will not arrive on PlayStation platforms after Microsoft acquired Zenimax Media, the developer's parent company, back in September 2020.
