Square Enix treated fans to the gameplay debut of Final Fantasy 16 during the State of Play that introduced new characters, factions, and a release window for the next big entry.
After revealing some of the major characters in 2020, Producer Naoki Yoshida gave people their first taste of the highly-anticipated FFXVI’s gameplay along with more details of its story.
The three-minute trailer gave fans a look at the combat system and the characters that we’ll meet across our journey in the game.
With the world on the brink of chaos and a war about to break out, we got to see more of what Final Fantasy XVI will have to offer players.

From the gigantic Eikons to the medieval backdrop of Valisthea, players got to see what will be in store for them once Final Fantasy 16 releases in Summer 2023.
That’s plenty of time for Square to put the finishing touches on the next big installment for the legendary FF franchise.

The June State of Play floored viewers with an epic trailer that pushed the sense of scale of the factions that will be at war in Final Fantasy XVI.
Additionally, the devs spelled out all of the summons, called Eikons, that look to be an integral part of the story and showed them off in all their brilliance

With six different factions and the massive land of Valisthea to explore, this is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Final Fantasy titles in recent memory.
