The PS4 original version of the first title was critically well-received, hitting an 87 on Metacritic on PS4, before being ported to PS5 alongside Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
The story, which is set in an entirely new universe, picks up with Peter Parker already established as Spider-Man and battling Martin Li, also known as Mr Negative.
A sequel is on the cards, too, with Sony revealing an early trailer at State of Play last year, alongside the developer’s interpretation of Wolverine. The developer was acquired by Sony for $229 million dollars in 2019.
